Why isn't my promo code working?
Nine times out of ten: the code has expired, it doesn't cover what is in your basket, or it was entered after the order was confirmed. Our listing shows the date of the last test. Start there.
How do I know if a promo code has expired?
Every code shows its last checked date and its success rate, worked out from the reports of members who tried it. When a code starts failing it drops down the grid and lands under the team's eyes, and they pull it if it is really dead.
Why does my promo code come back as invalid?
Usually one character too many: a space picked up in the copy and paste, a zero read as an O, or a code already used on the same account. Copy it again with the Copy button.
Does the promo code apply to shipping?
Rarely. Unless it says free delivery, the discount covers the items, not the shipping. Each listing says so when the brand allows it.
Is the promo code valid on items already on sale?
That depends on the brand. Some allow it, most marketplaces do not. When it cannot be stacked, the listing says so.
Why doesn't the code apply to everything in my basket?
Plenty of codes exclude certain categories: limited editions, items sold by a third party, gift cards. The discount then only covers the eligible items.
Is there a minimum spend?
Often yes, and the threshold is nearly always worked out before shipping. The minimum is spelled out under the discount amount.
Can I use a promo code on a gift card?
No, in the vast majority of cases. Gift cards count as a means of payment, not as a product you can discount.
Is the discount worked out before or after delivery costs?
Before. The percentage applies to the items subtotal, then delivery is added on top. That is why a $60 basket including shipping can miss a $60 threshold.
Do capitals and lower case matter?
Most sites do not care, but some do. When in doubt, type the code exactly as it appears here.
Do spaces count when you type a code?
Yes. One invisible space at the end is enough to get it rejected. The Copy button strips spaces for you.
Why does the site say I have hit the usage limit?
Some brands cap their code at one order per account, or keep it for new customers. That ceiling is set by the brand, not by us: we cannot see their till. If you have hit it, another code from the same file will often do the job.
